- PowerPixel Tester 1.1

-
- PowerPixel Tester was designed to allow users to test the displays of their
- Powerbook 180c laptops prior to purchase. The idea is to take the program
- with you to the store and run it on your prospective purchase. This will allow
- you to see if any pixels are out on the display.
-
- To use PowerPixel Tester, simply launch the application. PowerPixel Tester
- will automatically hide everything and display a FULL red screen which will
- allow you to examine ALL the red pixels. Once you have done this, you can
- click to continue. The program will then display a green screen, and then a
- blue and finally a black screen. Remember, simply click to continue on to the
- next screen. Once you have finished with the black screen, simply click once
- again and the program will quit. PowerPixel Tester also hides the cursor so
- that it cannot interfere with your examination of the screen.
-
- Good luck in finding a perfect screen and I hope that you can send in the $5
- fee that supports the writing of such programs. It allows me to continue
- such efforts! Also, it is a small price to pay for a perfect Powerbook Screen.

- VERSION HISTORY:
-
- 1.1 Added a white screen which Apple may ask for when testing pixels. It
- It also aids in bad pixel detection.

- SOME BACKGROUND:
-
- This program was written in response to my purchase of a Powerbook 180c
- that contains 9, yes count 'em, NINE, faulty pixels. Apple compounded the
- problem by saying that there was no way to ensure me a good display and
- they had no policy to give me a better one (at least). Needless to say, I am
- following up on the matter. I encourage all of you who are considering the
- purchase of a Powerbook 180c to use this program to examine your screen
- and accept nothing less than perfection. After all, your paying enough for
- it! Maybe then Apple will listen.
